2002

Interview with Malcolm Middleton (Guillaume, October 2002,  popnews.com, translated from French)
Popnews.com: You recently did a mini tour with Kristofer Astrom and Robin Proper-Sheppard, how did that come together?
Malcolm Middleton: I've always been a big fan of Sophia and The God Machine in particular, which is one of my favourite bands. I had the opportunity to meet Robin a couple of times after concerts and we quickly became friends. The idea of doing a tour together was born during one of our conversations: "why don't you come to London to play, and I'll go to Glasgow?". After that Kristofer joined in too.

Popnews.com: Now that we're talking about Robin, is the new Sophia album nearly finished?
Malcolm Middleton: He's waiting until he's ready to finish it, until he's really pleased with it.

Popnews.com: But we've been waiting for four years now!
Malcolm Middleton: He's bound to hurry up! One day, I let him listen to a song from my solo album and all of a sudden he was really annoyed. I asked him what was wrong and he answered me that he had a song for the new Sophia album which was practically identical to mine! He was furious!
